Structural Engineering — Parking Garages

Millennium TOYOTA — Hempstead, NY

Galli Engineering, P.C. was retained to act as Project Civil Engineer, and design all of the civil and structural elements of the project. The civil aspects included the drainage and grading while the structural elements included footings and foundations, structural columns and beams and the structural floor and ramps. The two parking garages were built using the Design/Build concept. Each of the parking garages were multi-floor structures complete with heated ramps, stair towers, finished floors and drainage and grading.

Millennium I was a completely pre-cast design utilizing pre-cast concrete members, and was assembled in a very short period of time. Galli Engineering designed the footings, columns and corbels, beams, ramps and floor planks, and created an unloading and erection plan.

Millennium II was irregular in shape and was constructed over a working Millennium Toyota Mechanics Shop, utilizing pre-cast concrete columns and beams. All of the floors were poured concrete over metal decking. On both projects Galli Engineering was retained to design fire protection and site lighting. We also provided construction supervision and project documentation.
