Jones Beach Theatre Expansion — Wantagh, NY

The Jones Beach Theatre expansion consisted of constructing a second level deck using the design/build concept and pre-cast concrete members. The expansion was a high angle circular structure adding second floor rows A-Z. The facility was complete with entrance and exit areas, raised handicap sections, filming and sound rooms and an elevator.

Galli Engineering, P.C. was retained to act as Civil Engineer, and to design selected structural concrete elements of the project. The structural elements included pre-cast floor planks, seating stadia, horizontal beams, pre-cast stairs, balcony panels and the entrance walls.

This was a fast track project, with all work done following the final concert in November and completed before the first concert in May. To achieve this schedule, the project utilized prefabricated / pre-cast design concepts utilizing pre-fabricated raker beams and pre-cast cast concrete members.

Galli Engineering worked with the contractors to create unloading and lifting plans and erection plans. Galli Engineering, P.C. was further retained to provide construction supervision for the Galli elements and to document the project.
